The 2011 meeting of the American Society of Primatologists will be held at the Hilton Austin, located in downtown Austin, Texas. We encourage preparation of proposals for symposia and abstracts for paper and poster sessions.
Deadlines for Abstract Submission
Preliminary abstracts for symposia and workshops should be submitted to Sue Howell, Program Committee Chair, by January 15, 2011 (showell@hamanranch.org).
The deadline for final abstracts for symposia, workshops, oral presentations, and poster presentations will be March 12, 2011.
Accommodations and Conference Meetings
The Hilton Austin is offering special rates to participants in the meetings that apply for three (3) days before and after the scheduled dates of September 16-19, 2011. Rooms with single or double beds are available for $139/night with a $20 charge for each additional person plus taxes. Hotel reservations cannot be made until mid-October. All conference sessions and social events will be held at the Hilton Austin.
Preliminary Conference Schedule
Friday, 16 September 2011: On-site registration for the meeting will begin at 8 a.m., with committee meetings scheduled for that afternoon. The opening reception will be held at the Hilton Austin.
Saturday, 17 September 2011: The scientific meeting will open at 8:00 am with the 2011 keynote address and will continue until 5 p.m., with a poster session in the evening.
Sunday, 18 September 2011: The scientific meeting will continue at 8:00 am will continue until 5 p.m., with a poster session in the evening.
Monday, 19 September 2011: The scientific meetings will run throughout the day. The closing banquet will be held in the evening at the Hilton Austin, followed by music and dancing.
Area Highlights
The Hilton Austin is only one block from Austin's famous Sixth Street nightlife and a short stroll to the entertainment, shopping and dining in the Warehouse Entertainment District and 2nd Street District.
The Hilton Austin's downtown location is also convenient to many attractions such as the Capitol Building, Bob Bullock Texas Historical Museum and the LBJ Presidential Library. The Hilton Austin is only seven miles from Austin Bergstrom International Airport.
