Nature Tourism, if responsibly done, well controlled and carefully managed is one of the best, yet least understood, tools in a conservationists' toolbox, and this particularily applies to primate conservation. We will seek to illustrate ways in which the scientific and conservation community can approach tourism, tour operators and their agents, get support from them, and help enhance in situ conservation through tourism's presence, tourism's monies, integration in conservation and heightened awareness of the conservation issues involved, using examples of both good and bad practices from my own experience and the research done on tourism & conservation.
