It is important for those working with nonhuman primates to be fully aware of all potential hazards associated with these animals, both infectious and noninfectious. Infectious agents are of particular concern for nonhuman primate caregivers due to the potential for fatal consequences. This session will explore injuries and potential disease exposures amongst those working with nonhuman primates. Lack of appropriate reporting following injuries and exposures continues to be a significant issue within institutional Occupational Health and Safety programs.
