The annual Student Luncheon Workshop will feature a panel of recent graduates and established faculty discussing strategies for navigating the academic job market. Over box lunches, the panelists will go over the "DOs and DON'Ts" of the academic job search with entertaining and informative stories of their own and others' experiences being on the job market and/or search committees. Additionally, attendees will be provided materials on CD that aggregate information on where to look for job announcements, how to write an effective cover letter, Curriculum Vitae (C.V.), teaching and research statements, and prepare for campus interviews. The workshop will be useful for students entering the job market as well as those a few years away who want to begin strategizing early. Questions and answers will be a fundamental aspect of the luncheon.
