Mannheimer Foundation, Inc., Haman Ranch, LaBelle, FL 33935, USA

Representatives from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and others will be on hand to provide an overview of Grant Resources and initiatives and answer questions from participants interested in the pursuit of funding for primate research. The purpose of this workshop is to inform the American Society of Primatology membership about current and new grant initiatives and provide the opportunity for dialogue between primatologists and grant funding agencies and others to improve access to competitive and sometimes scarce grant resources. In particular, representatives of the new NIH Behavioral and Social Sciences Research Initiative OppNet will be on hand to introduce the new funding program. The Division Director of the Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences division of the National Science Foundation (NSF) will be on hand to address NSF funding opportunities. Other agencies and participants will be on hand all focusing on funding for primate research. While the workshop focuses primarily on professional primatologists who have completed their advanced degrees, student funding opportunities will also be discussed. All are welcome to attend.
