This workshop will be an opportunity for the ASP to share its work with K-12 teachers from the Oklahoma City area, and to suggest ways that these teachers can bring information about primates and primatology into their classrooms. Working with the Education staff at the Oklahoma City Zoo, we will introduce the participants to the living primates and the process of behavioral research. We will also inform the group about primate-related resources, such as websites, publications, and collections of slides and videos. Finally, a panel of our colleagues will inform the audience about various subdisciplines of primatology, including research in the field, in laboratory settings, and in zoological parks. Overall, we hope to give participating teachers a better idea of what primatology is all about, so that they can share our love of primates with their students.
