The issues that graduate students face today are complex. A position within an academic setting is no longer the norm for most primate specialists. Primatologists currently work in a wide variety of venues within habitat countries, government agencies, academic organizations, research facilities, and primate centers. This workshop will bring together students, faculty, and professionals working the field of primatology to discuss issues related to applying for, securing, and surviving employment in primatology today. This workshop will include an overview presentation and panel discussion to encourage dialogue on this important topic. The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum for students and professionals to discuss roles pertinent to working in the field of primatology today and on the influence of multiple factors that impact career development.
